Suno download limits (2026): how to make each download count
As of October 2026, Suno caps downloads by plan: up to 7 lifetime trial downloads on Free, 20 a month on Pro, 60 on Premier. What counts as one download, WAV or MP3, when to take stems and what to check afterwards.
As of October 2026, Suno limits how many songs you can download, and the limit depends on your plan. The limits started on September 3, 2026, and they apply to songs you made before that date too. Listening to and sharing songs on Suno are not capped. This guide covers the numbers, what counts as one download, and how to get the most from each download.
The limits by plan
| Plan | Downloads | How they reset |
|---|---|---|
| Free, joined before September 3, 2026 | Up to 7 trial downloads, lifetime | Never. Trial downloads do not refill. |
| Free, joined on or after September 3, 2026 | Occasional trial downloads; more can be bought | Not guaranteed |
| Pro | 20 a month | On your billing date. Unused downloads do not roll over. |
| Premier | 60 a month | On your billing date. Unused downloads do not roll over. |
When you reach the limit, you can buy additional downloads. Individual download purchases and download packs roll over to later months, unlike the monthly allowance. Work done in Suno Studio is not subject to the download limits.
The numbers come from Suno's own pages: its downloads policy post of 10 August 2026, the help article How many downloads come with my subscription?, and the Upcoming Changes FAQ. We do not quote the price of an extra download, because the pages we checked do not state one.
What counts as one download
- One song is one download, whatever the format. Downloading the same song again, in any format, does not use another download.
- Stems are part of the song's download. They do not count as separate downloads.
- Failed or interrupted downloads do not count.
- Old songs count too. The limits apply to all songs from September 3, including songs created before that date.
- Trial downloads are for personal use only. Songs downloaded on a paid plan carry commercial rights, according to Suno.
WAV or MP3: the format costs nothing extra
Because a song counts once whatever the format, the choice of format does not change your allowance. Take the highest-quality file your plan's download menu offers. An MP3 is compressed, and the losses cannot be undone. They also make the high-frequency artifacts of an AI track harder to clean, so when you have the choice, take the WAV.
When to take the stems
Stems are part of the same download, so they cost you nothing extra. Take them when you expect to change the balance between parts: a vocal that sits too loud, a bass that smears, drums that need to sit lower. A full mix gives you the balance Suno made, and nothing more.
Before you download
- Listen to the whole song at normal volume, on the speakers you use to judge a mix. Each song takes one download, so pick the take you will keep.
- Check what is left. Pro and Premier allowances reset on your billing date, and unused downloads do not roll over. Download the songs you need before the reset.
- Decide on stems now. They come with the same download.
- Check the use you need. Trial downloads are for personal use. Downloads on a paid plan can be used commercially.
After you download
Keep the original file. Your downloads are capped, and a file you already have can be re-processed without using another download. Then:
- Measure it with the free LUFS checker. Read the integrated loudness, the true peak and the loudness range. For what the numbers mean, see how to read a LUFS meter.
- Clean the marks you can hear, if the track has them. In the lab choose "Clean AI artifacts", or read about AI artifact cleanup. Clean before you limit, so the limiter does not make the artifacts louder.
- Master it for your platform. For Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube, see how to master a Suno song.
What we could not confirm
The pages we checked do not give a price for an extra download, and they do not list which formats each plan offers. Check your download menu for the formats you can take. Suno may change these limits. This guide reflects the position as of October 2026, and we will update it when Suno changes its rules.
